I have a 98 3.0L diesel Jackaroo (standard model) and would like to set up a second set of off road (MT) tyres but can't seem to find where I can get used steel rims. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find them or, what other rims would fit the Jackaroo?

Where are you ? If you're in Melbourne, could be worth trying "Jackaroo World" at 516 Canterbury Rd Vermont, 03 9872 3633, Email jackworld@alphalink.com.au
They have genuine parts,as well as non gen , & also second hand.
hope this helps

I just purchased a set of 15 inch steel rims. I actually bought a set of 60 series landcruiser rims off ebay and although they fitted Ok, I was able to swap them for a set that came off a mazda bravo. The offset specification you are looking for is known as "navara". You might like to try Kumbak Wreckers in Melbourne they had some but they were pretty expensive. They told me that alloys were cheaper.
BTW I was advised to go for the 15" rims for my second set because the cost of tyres is a lot cheaper than 16"

Hope this helps

I got some ROH Track II rims for $55 each plus fitted and balanced the tyres I had for free from Bob Jane. Grey ones just to be different.

roh track 2 rims are an inch too wide in the offset for the jack. ( unless that is what you want) Kumback wreckers (i think) do a lot of jackaroos and are good for parts - their details are on the jackaroo club of vic website in their newsletters.. Price for standard steels $240 approx each from wreckers. Price new from holden hspo $550 each !!!

I thought i would be pushing it uphill with the proverbial pointy stick when i was looking a while ago, and banged an ad in the trader, but hey i came up trumps and got a set at a nice price from Rob in Lillydale who had them as his muddie rims. So there are a few around you just have to strike it lucky..

Or you could pay $50 a pop for the track2 rims , stick on some guard flares and have slightly higher bearing loads from the increased offset. Good luck champ

Brad,

Gotta get the right offset then you wont have a problem.

DJF,
You can get 15" ROH trak2's for under $50 not worth buying anything secondhand for that price. You could look at 16" for$100 each.

Bradley,

ROH Track II is just the name to designate the style and the silicone bead. They are available in various offsets and sizes.

Either way mine are the Navara offset which I was told is the correct offset for any IFS vehicle.

I have the 15x7 with 31x10.5 tyres and the tyres extend right to the edge of the guard but I don't need flares. This is for my 97 Rodeo styleside.

HI Leroy, yeah you are always better off with the correct offset, i was quoted about $75 each for the track2 16x7 in silver. Personally i would stick wit the 16s as i prefer better rim to caliper clearance.

Hello Utemad, the direct contact i have had with roh told me that the closest they have is the 16x7 which is an inch wider in the offset. Yes they would suit just about every other 4x4 but the jackaroo has a unique offset design, and hence the problem with getting replacement rims, of course the rodeo has different wheels again. BTW those standard rodeo steels are the heaviest steel rims i have ever seen ( or had to work with) and i have yet to see one damaged in any significant way.. Stick with the model rodeo you have now, don't trade up to an RA - what a shiza heap , biggest dissapointment i have had updating a vehicle. (thankfully it was a company car and i didn't do my moola)

Cheers all

Bradley,

Your right about the strength of the Rodeo rims. I have hit rocks with them and have some small gauges out of the steel but never bent one. They are much heavier in weight to the 15x7 ROH rims too.

When I trade up I have no intenton of going near an RA. Look too on road biased to me.

Contact "Tread Shed" on Dawes Road in Adelaide. He can source some for your for about $30 each. I know this because he was telling me they were the same size / offset as the Prado rim and I could use one for a spare spare.

Also have a question. What do people recommend for a RV Prado to replace the "small" wheels with?
