Word has it, that Cooper are bringing out a new tyre, available as of now, the Cooper ATR. Told it is a revised version of the current AT, longer wearing and stronger, should be interesting to see how good it is.

If they put as much money into development, as they do marketing, then they may start to produce something worth fitting to the rims.

That has been well documented in some other threads, but to recount,

wet bitumen grip suffers, chipping, [material compound related] noise, sidewall thickness, and strength, warranty.

Read it..
you have to have them rotated by a coopers agent, balanced and rotated lots, etc.. Its all extra cost. Yes you ahve them balanced and rotated and alignmet (i think) but not every 5000klms like they required last time I looked.

Been a while since I read it, the dude was at our club giving a presentation.

It's every 10,000km.....and I have always rotated and aligned my tires every 10,000km so it's nothing new.... Maximum charge (if you have to pay) is $45 per rotation.... And if you are prepared to 'haggle' they will often do it for free.
Nothing I have read in their warranty would concern me....nor is it written in 'fine print' it's very clearly outlined in the same text as the rest of the warranty as is the 5 year manufacturing fault warranty....seems like a pretty good warranty to me

i had my cooper s/t 265/75/16's rotated every 10,000 k's,
wet grip on and off road excellent
dry grip on and off road excellent
no chipping that i noticed
road noise increased slightly as they approached 65,000 k's
bloody things wouldn't wear out i got rid of them at 85,000 k's because i wanted to go the 285/75/16.

My dealer never once charged me for the rotation.
He told me that charges $12 these days, i reckon the budget could stretch itself to that.
so for 80,000 k's that works out to $96 bucks over the next couple or three years.
