Means you probally have
water in your fuel system. try changing the fuel filter and bleeding the lines.

Hi Matho
The square
orange light next to the fuel gauge indicates approx 10 litres of fuel remaining
The fuel light that looks like a radiator is from the fuel filter and indicates that there is
water in the fuel filter and needs draining.
There is a drain tap on the bottom of the filter

It's not the low fuel light i'm talking about. The Light says -Fuel
Tank- and is
orange in colour

If you own a petrol cruiser, it means there is a problem with the
tank level controls or fuel pump over...to get rid of the warning, pull the wire off the ecu, situated pass rear quarter panel. If it comes back straight away, it is most probably telling you the fuel transfer pump is RS.

I remember once when I had the battery disconected for a lengthy time that when it was reconected the fuel light wouldn't go off ( full
tank) Toyota told me to disconect the battery again for a couple of seconds and then re connect.
Problem solved.

G'day Dozer,
Will let you know whats wrong with it on Thursday. It's booked in then....
I don't think it will be that much of an issue, probably just a loose wire.
P.S you seem to be a 80 series Guru. I read all you replies with interest.
Cheers Mate

Hi Matho, used to own an 80 series petrol. (Great truck, now have a deisel.) Had trouble with fuel warning light too. Turned out we couldn't access our sub-fuel
tank to transfer to main
tank. Mr Toyota drained both tanks and fitted new pump and sensors. All were a both dirty, and as they are super sensitive, set off the warning light. Wasn't a cheap solution but it had to be done. We are not mechanically minded, that's why we didn't tackle it ourselves. Good luck. John and Sally.
