Just wondering wats the best way to check the oil cooler on the old nissan diesels?

Unless it is leaking one would presume that it is ok.
There would more likely be a problem with the hoses to and from the cooler than the cooler itself.

The normal method of testing is to place the unit in a contianer of
water and then presurise the oil passage with compressed air. Eric.

compressed air or nitrogen only....do not use oxygen
