my air con stopped working
gas ok pressure switch ok
the realay has power to it but not grounded on other side
no broken wires any ideas

If it were a troopie I would know the answer to that one, just in case the Pajero has the same system, this is how the troopie's AC works:
The ground of the relay goes to a temperature sensing switch on the engine block, the switch sticks into the cooling
water. With the engine too hot the switch opens, disabling the AC and taking its load off the engine. It also lets more cool air to the radiator as the AC condensor no longer heats it up.
If this switch jams open circuit - no AC - since it is this switch that grounds the relay.
