Hi. Depending on where you are travelling from, you should regularly check out the Department of Road Transport websites in SA, QLD & NSW. If you go to the VKS 737 website at www.vks737.on.net and select the ROADS tab you can check out the sites from there. It will also give you links to the weather reports plus loads of other usefull stuff. I went to Cam's Corner back in July. weather was good when we were there but next morning I spoke to a trucker in
Lyndhurst who said the roads were nearly impassable. It can change that quick.
Enjoy your trip.
Lou.

Call the NPWS at
Tibooburra they get all the latest reports from all the state road authorities and also are in direct contact with the
Tibooburra RTA boss who assesses the roads and notifies NPWS when he reckons the tracks will open - so the info you get will be right up to the minute and they will tell you if they will be opening tomorrow or the next day etc. Hope this helps. I use to live there.
PS.
Tibooburra does get heaps of stranded tourists at times - the pubs love it.

Hi KerryGaye,
I live in the
Hill and all roads are now open.
Usually the roads close very quickly if there is any rain. They usually remain closed for about 24hrs after the rain stops but this can vary depending on how heavy the rain is and just where it falls.
The Police have the most up to date info and the guys in
Broken Hill are usually very helpful. There number is 08 8087 0299.
Worse things could happen to you than having to spend an extra night or two in
Broken Hill. I would come anyway.
Hope it's fun
