Has anyone had any first hand experience good or bad fitting extractors to a diesel 105 Cruiser (Not an 80 as exhaust isn't interchangeable).
-What brands are available?
-What power increase did you get?
-Fuel economy?
Thanks in advance. Craig...................

Sorry Craig, no first hand experiance, but friend has them on the 1hz 80 and gets a gear better pulling power, so second gear corners can be done in 3rd, etc, and same with hills.
The 100 exhaust goes straight down the tunnel, where as the 80 exits the side...which means the 100 will be better flowing aswell...now you really should look at the rest of the system if you do the extracters, change out the large muffler infront of the diff for a less restrictive one, leave the rear one.
Lastly, consider the benefits of turboing your cruiser instead. The extracter exercise will set you back a little less that 1k, another 2.5 will get you a turbo, and that makes a big difference to pulling power...sort of changes your 6 into a v8, with a small increase in consumption, but usually 2 gears better up hills.
Genie are one of the better extracters, Safari is the best turbo system.

Thanks Andrew. I'm familiar with the benifits of a free flowing exhaust on an 80 but none of the exhaust shops I checked with listed a system for the 105 yet. As for the turbo, I'm not really obsessed with the need for heaps of power. I'd rather keep the motor reliable but would like to compensate for the power loss after fitting of a set of 285/75 MTRs.
Cheers Craig.................

Craig,
Does that mean you've got rid of the BFG mt's. If not I am looking for a 255/85r16 second spare for the disco.
Cheers

John. As they're half worn I'm now using them as my road set. I do however know someone else that's got a few of the same size loose. Will make some enquiries. Cheers Craig.................. :-)
