This is the reply I got from GME in regards to the firmware upgrade to allow user programmable receive only channels.

"The only way to upgrade the firmware in the TX4400 is to replace the microprocessor.
We will replace the micro for a charge of between $45.00 and $50.00. The micros are in stock
and the job would take approximately 2 days with the current work load."

Better than getting charged $30 to have them programmed for you.

I think that is reasonable. Prob a surface mount micro also. I'm sure others have also wondered if this could be done. Thanks for the feedback.

In case anyone with an already programmable tx4400 was wondering, this feature is available on units with a serial number higher than 10803340.

Ain't the internet a wonderful thing.

Yes mine is before that. It serves me right for buying a 4400 when they first hit the shelves.
