Can anyone relate to this? We have owned since new the afore mentioned Patrol and have had nothing but problems. Major vibrations through steering wheel, shuddering movements back and
forth through the foot
well - especially in passenger front. Clunks within the gear change and noise from differential. The LH tyre wear is excessive and has a major oversteer to the Left and hard to turn to the Right. Bump steers majorily. Differential has been replaced, numerous wheel alignments, tyres replaced in December 2003 and noticed within 3 weeks the leading edge of both LHS tyres wearing, toe in is within Nissan spec range. Any advice or knowledge of same or feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks Judith

First place to start, align it with a 4 wheel alignment and ensure its square, a spacer behind the control arm can fix this if it isnt.
You dont state wether the car has a
suspension lift or not, but it may need the camber checked if it does, as
well as the steering damper to ensure it isnt bent, binding, etc.
Also check body mounts under floor and ensure
A/ bolt is tight
B/ that it pulls the body tight. [If it doesnt make a washe rout of some lino and place it under the rubber body mount]
You dont mention the km but bump steer, thumping floor and steering/tyre issues may also be shocker problem.

Go_offroad,
Many thanks....sorry the Kms are 56000km - still under warranty but Nissan can not seem to suss the faults - many are intermittent and as they limit the amount of time they test drive and never in the same conditions - they believe it is just typical of a Nissan Patrol, but we have driven others which were and are nothing like it. It has never had the full on off - roading experience and no standard bog stock Nissan as far as
suspension goes. Looked to this
forum as you are all 4x4ers in the know.
