12V SUPER HEAVY DUTY AIR COMPRESSORS heaps of em on ebay, i was interested to know what anyone thinks about them?

They look and quote the same specs as the Bushranger Max air and the 72lpm ones for sale at repco and super cheap auto.

As far as the copies go (because there are a heap of bushranger "copies" on the market) it looks pretty good.

1. It has the air intake at the top of the heatsink, not the bottom.
2. It has the rubber cover of the power switch.
3. It has the plastic cap over the quick release air nozzle.

The only other copy I have seen with all these three features (just like the bushranger) is the "Mega Grunt". all the other copies, repco, supercheap, bigw etc do not have these.

So it looks pretty good, probally a good bang for your buck, me however, I'm still saving my pennies and will have my blue toung in a few weeks, I'm sick of having these cheap air compressors overheat and fail on me. (they don't cut out with their whiz bang safty switches like they should, they just keep going until all the cheap alloy inside melts!).

Yeah I know wat you mean 3 times i have had to take the "heavy Duty" "heat cut out" to pieces and put some real heat resistant O rings in and cut out the stupid plastic bits.

But i am a poor student, so it will be a few years before i can aford a blue tongue, but i am thinking of buying that one on ebay if its good splitting it with engineer mate who is good at making things work "more better"

Yeah I've had it happen twice now, the last was after a nice day along the coast then a 45min delay to jack the car up while I pumped each tyre up with the usless peice o crap while it rattled away with bit's of it'self getting chewed up and dying more every second.
Nup, had enough. Should a seen the look on the missus face when I told her I wanted to buy a $350 air pump for the car! LOL
"but we've got one!?" "Not any more, plomp in the bin..."

Purchased a Max Air copy from BigW for ~$90.
Have tested it over the weekend.
4 tyres 265/70R16 from 18psi to 40psi
took ~4mins for each tyre.
Ran smoothly the entire time.

I'm happy with it for the number of times that it will be used.

If I were to go bush more often and in the extremes then I would spend the
$350 - $450 for an original h/duty compressor.
