Hi,
I have a manual 98 Triton DC 4wd with 130K on the clock. Recently there doesnt seem to be as much direct input from pedal to the back
wheels, so I am thinking the clutch is slipping.
It is particularily noticable from 2nd to 3rd, as the engine overrevs for a second before full power goes to the
wheels.
So my questions are:
1. Am I right in thinking Clutch?
2. Is 130K normal for Clutch issues?
3. what would be typical charge from a workshop to replace it?
4. If so, does anyone know a decent mechanic in
Adelaide that wont rip me off blind?
Thanks all, any help would be appreciated, I just dont want to roc up a mechanic and get the usual 'ums' 'ahs' and 'Its gonna cost ya'.
If I'm missing something (And yes, I'm releasing the clutch pedal:-)) let me know
Ta

If south of
Adelaide I'd recommend Rod Prime on O'Sullivans Beach Rd, Lonsdale. Ring around for an estimate first if you are concerned about price.

Not sure on workshop costs but I got quoted about 2 weeks ago for my Triton GLS
$250 for a PBR standard clutch kit,
$300 from Mitsubishi and
$475 for a Daiken heavy duty.
Hope this helps.

I ended up going for the PBR kit which I purchased from Supacheaps in
Perth...Auto Pro also quoted the same price...Have had a good run with PBR gear in other vehicles so I stuck with them...Not sure how much the Hilux,Navara or Rodeo ones cost but very suprised with how cheap these kits are especially the genuine Mitsubishi kit.
