Hi,

Anyone know how to remove the black vertical plastic cover dash that houses the radio, air con controls etc, etc. I want to fit a DIN mounted UHF to the space under the radio/cassette in a DX GU patrol so need to remove the front surround/cover just in front of the gear shift. Can't see any screws etc so does it just unclip or .........

Thanks

I have a GU ST and It unclips at the botom of the cover below the air cond controls between the dash and black plate their are two groves on on each side that you can stick a blade screw driver in to leaver the plate out just be sure that you wrap something around the screwdriver so you don't mark the dash. If you use a torch you can see the little spots for the screwdriver clearly. Hope this is of some help

Hi Ya, The crow is correct but just take it easy after you have unclipped it, i think from memory , you can still break clips on the side or the top if you remove to quick. Let us know it the din mount mounts without any gap between the radio and the black cover... Michael

Gday mate,

Just be reallllllly careful with the screwdriver, the guys that did the fitting to my gu went a bit crazy ie. did the mumba whilst trying to get the dash plate off and scratched the painted bits. GRRRRRrrr.

Cheers

Chris.

If you scratch it yourself, you can only blame yourself and you will get over it sooner LOL

That's right and then you can only put a post on this site telling everyone how dodgy YOU are as opposed to a fitter ;-)
