Hi guys
Saw an earlier post by Rolande about winch ropes. Last month I just happened to go to one of the chain and lifting equipment specialists and was able to pick up 40 metres of 10mm, 6 strandwire with a fibre core, thimbles at both ends, 2 x 8mm connectors(hammerlinks) and 2 single links(oblong Links) for $160.00.
You can't go wrong with that. The rope itself cost me $105.00.
Beats buying it at a four wheel drive
shop. The guys I bought this equipment off of also sell good quality rope as
well.

I went to a marine cableing place and got myself 30 metres of 8mm galvanised wire rope (rigging) with a swaged eye at one end for $50 at Kippa Ring QLD.

Hi David
We're in Brissy too.
If you don't mind me asking, which Marine
shop is it?
hat's cheap enough to carry as a spare.
Thanks

Hi Tripp'n,
Well it was a couple of years ago and I can't find my receipts but I think it was:
A.T.S. Wire & Synthetic Ropes
8 Brewer St
Clontarf
QLD 4019
ph: (07) 3284 1199
Hope you can get a good bargain from them.
Regards
David
