Gotta get under the stars, like a caged animal, can't stand it any longer, only got 2 days this Sun/Mon.
Thought I'd ask if anyone was willing to divulge any of their favourite spots to
camp within 1 or 1.5 hrs drive from
Brisbane.
Don't need amenities and it usually means less humans around.....
Oh,.... and somewhere the LR will go. ;-))))
Thks in advance.

Double Island Point beach north of Noosa was always one of my favourites. It might be pretty busy as you are talking school holidays.

I was in the same boat a few days ago.
We came up with
Bribie Island. That's right Bribie Islnad. I havent been there at all for years and have never been there
camping, so I can't tell you what it's like. Most of the island is national
park and there are three
camping sites where a 4wd can get to. One on
the beach and two on the pumicestone passage side.
If you're going to
camp on the bech you'll have to get a vehicle permit. About $30 for the day or $60 for the year. We're going there tonight after work and staying till sunday.
And best af all it's less then an hour from Brissie.

I camped there once. Checked out all the WWII stuff. Going back in December.
