The 2F motor has really good grunt in standard form but top end is a bit limited. Having had the 2F and the 307 Chev in the same vehicle (FJ55), the stock 6 was very good at slow stuff having good torque and the V8 excelent on the highway.

Economy was not noticable between the two - 350 Holley, extractors and 2" on the 2F and 650 Holley, std manifold with twin 2" on the Chev. However, in your case, if you plan to keep the 2F and need more power the quickest solution is to bolt on a turbo with a 3" drain pipe.

You'll still keep the low down grunt and with good highway crusing speed. Wouldn't advise a high lift cam as this will be a real pain at slow speeds - stalling and too much clutch slipping to keep moving.

Stick an 8 in it!!

6.5 t/diesel, 6.7t/diesel (these are new), 7.2 t/diesel or if you want to be silly run a 454 on gas. rgds

I had one with 350 and extractors also and it was great for plowing paddocks but big long stroke no good onthe highway. Afella at work has a 45 with a 253 and it is a good match.

Fit as many HICLONES as you can. Shove them anywhere, air intake, snorkel, exhaust pipes, even in the air vents. Then stick in a huge whopping V8 turbo diesel and see the difference.
