Just got back from 2 weeks on fraser towed 420 magnam corrimal van,quick update for those interested....manta ray barge cost $100 for patrol and van,fuel is about $1.40/l diesal,Beer $56 per 30 can case,tailor still on the bite,watch out for hired troopies as per usual,two had major rollovers that i heard/saw while i was there.The trip to the lighthouse at the cape is easy now that a bypass goes around ngala rocks absolute must see this area i you have a chance.Still lots of
places to
beach camp,also there is now police stationed near
orchid beach they do breathalise reguarly.Beach driving is allowed the full length to the lighthouse

Thanks Brian. I plan to spend my annual "sabbatical" up there again later this year.
Is Manta Ray the privately owned one? I can never remember.
