Hi Paul, I recently went through the waeco/engel dilema and ened up purchasing from fridgeshop.com a waeco FF-70.(couldn't be happier) However whilst at the caravan and camping show in Adelaide i spotted these DR fridges you are talking about. They run the Danfoss compressors and unlike the current range of waeco fridges they have 50mm insulation instead of the 35mm waeco now use. They seem to be based on the the Waeco FF series and if i had my time again this would have been my choice of fridge. Very friendly and professional staff too. Just my thoughts.

Well they are considerably cheaper than Waeco or Engle yet seem to have better insulation, compressor is a good brand....yet price seems so cheap to the couterparts.

I'm in the midst of the 240/12 Volt or 3way fridge dilema.

I've read past forum post on the issue but none have mentioned these fridges to date.

Jimbo, you should have answered Paul's question
Instead of showing your total abstinence of any intelligence!

Obviously you don't know the answer!

I am sure any fridge with a Danfoss compressor will NOT roast a chicken

Maybe Paul’s question relates to...

....Size
....Price
....Colour
....Weight
....Warranty
....Availability
....Power consumption
....left or Right sided opening lid
....Amount and type of insulation

I believe Paul has already visited the manufacturer's web site, after I visited there I can see most reasonable questions are answered, I was only asking "what is it you wish to know" that is not already available on the web site or by directly E-mailing the supplier.

I am sorry Jimbo if you get offended when you see people attempting to assist others with information specifically requested that you obviously don't know the answer to (as you would have assisted Paul if you knew the answer, wouldn't you) not all people who read this forum are arrogant and intolerant of others dilemma’s and assist with relevant information where requested.

Fair Dinkhum Mainey, you need to get serious with yourself. The bloke simply wanted to know how a Reefer fridge performed.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Give him some useful feedback as you know something of them.

I didn't get offended. You simply didn't assist him, you mocked him.

Poor form, I hope you can approve.

Do you have a decent recipe for Chicken Marengo....LOL.

Relax, enjoy a laugh,

Cheers,

Hmmmm should of stipulate what I wanted to know !!!

Personal experiences and power consumption are the two

I feel for the extra $100 i'm better off getting the 100L fridge BUT....as it has the same compressor as the 60L i'm guessing it will work harder and this will drain batteries quicker?

Paul,

Your question was fine, and self explanatory.

Get used to this. Ocassionally on this forum, as with life in general, you will come accross people who gain personal satisfaction from putting others down.

I'd love to tell you something about Reefer Fridges, but I don't know. Pity someone who does refuses to help you.

Don't be disillussioned, there are many fine people on this forum who like to help each other.

Cheers,

Paul,
I contacted the importer of the fridge, as someone else has stated they know their job and you get information with out compromise.

As you are aware the DR60 and also the DR100 Ltr fridge both use the Danfoss BD50 compressor, consumption is rated at 2.2a/h (at 30 ambient) due to it's 50mm to 60mm thick insullation which is a whole lot thicker than Waeco and other similar size fridges.

The evaporator plate sits with-in the full interior wall, maximising the level of refrigeration, most if not all other brands I have seen have smaller evaporator plates that actually sit inside the fridge space, causing them to run longer and use extra power to remain at the desired temp.

Hope this assists you in your decision.

Yes the price of $999 for 100 Litre is low, as these people actually specify and import the fridge without any middleman or agent to get a bit of the action.
