Has any one have any experience with extractor fitted to a 1HZ diesel engine ?
More power ? Better economy ? Noisier ?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I fitted a set to a 75 series ute. The onlyl notable difference was low down torque was increased slightly especially in sand.

I have heard a lot of claims for power and torgue increase after fitting extractor.
Most exhaust
shop say 30% (That's BIG)
Some post say 1 gear better (That's 20% and is also BIG)
Whilst other say very slight
So who's right ?

Save your $ for a turbo.
While not the ultimate in engineering, the standard Toy design is not too bad and is quiet and reliable. If you think your exhaust is restrictive, maybe you've got a bad muffler.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your response.
I am looking for some increase in torque between 2000-2500 rpm, thought an extractor may give me that.
I am towing a 2200 kg caravan and a little bit more power to go up
hill would be terrific.
I am doing a round aus trip next year, and do not want to compromise reliability by fitting a turbo.
Truck is a 1997 Troopy with 1HZ 4.2 diesel 160,000 km.

I have Pacemaker extractor and 2 1/2 in system on my 80 series. Noise level is marginally higher but the benefits outstrip that negative point by far. Economy is indeed slightly better and power and response where most noticable change. Would i do it again? You bet.

Hi Goran,
Thank for your advise.
Do you get better torque increase between 2000-2500 rpm ?
Thought if I only fit the extractor and not the 2.5" system, it will push the torque increase down to a lower rev. and also quieter.
