Installed a Lone
Ranger 60L
tank in the NM Pajero. Carried an extra 60L in jerries on the roof but didn't need them. Did the WAA line between Dalhousie and
Birdsville.

Richard,
Just checked and I see that you have a diesel Rodeo. The replacment fuel tanks on the Rodeo are a straight swap over. Remove the sender unit replace the pick up pipe with a longer one and the original fuel hoses should fit.
I have not had much to do with 4wdsystem fuel tanks but they should not be very different fron the other brands of replacment tanks on the market today.
With your vehicle, going across
the desert you would need at 90-100lts. That should get you across
the desert and have a bit left over.
I will be doing a west -east crossing next week and if I have a vehicle like yours in the convoy I will take note of how much fuel they use and let you know. It will still be only a rough guide as the sand conditions can change from one crossing to the next.
