I recently purchased my wrangler mt/r 265/75R16's, then today my brother inlaw purchased a set of 245/75/16's. when he was chasing prices one dealer said there where two prices but when this question was put to the goodyear tyre dealer he had a blank look. when we compare the tyres
mine have the option of white writing on one side and load rating of D and his doesn't have the white writing side and a load rating of E. Has anyone got any ideas, you don't seem to get the same answer from tyre sellers?

Different sizes, different batches imported into aussie, so the Aussie $ may have been different. We had that issue regularly when worked in the bike
shop.
The other thing is that tires in common sizes sell better, so probably would cost more.
Different sizes different tire ratings etc.

From what I have seen the common sizes sell for less. If you want an uncommon size they cost little more. Bulk ordering I suppose makes it cheaper?

goodyear mitcham assured me that they are all us made , but the load ratings/appearance differs between sizes ( same for all tyres) the 245's have a massive load rating i noticed when looking at the list. all i know is that they ain't cheap !!
Trucky, best price from dealer who sells heaps of them is $275 for the 245/75/16 size. i'll get em but i may have to wait for the wallet to gain some fat !!!

My brother in law got his 245's for $265 from Goodyear in
townsville,
I got my 265's from Beaurepairs in Cranbourne Vic for $275. who said they would beat any price on their stocked types and he was true to his promise.
