We are considering adding a turbo to our 80 series landcruiser. we want to know if the clutch would handle the extra power or would we need to update it. Thanks

The clutch will be fine.If you have the money the Safari is the one it cost around $3800 or the Turboglide $3100 is good two not as much go but the motor will last longer.

Hi Julie, if the clutch has a lot of ks on it , you would be wise to up grade to a heavy duty clutch. Also before fitting the turbo have a look at fitting a supercharger, the advantages far outway a turbo. Col

AEC (Advanced Engine Components) fitted the Sprintex supercharger to my 80 series diesel and I have had no problems in over 50 thousand km of travel. They are based in Perth and have experience with all forms of supercharging from 4WD applications to the "Bullet" concept sports cars.
