Any help would be great guys. My mate has just bought a defender extreme and wants to mount his 30hp outboard somewhere on his car. Any thoughts or ideas where? He was even thinking aboout the bullbar but could be illegal and would also be fairly heavy for hanging that far from the
suspension at teh front. I'm sure the oaf of a thing weighs at least 60 - 70kgs maybe more. It is a real pain putting it inside the car it takes two of us considerable effort to position it properly. Have had to stand it up in the cruiser behind the back
seat for the past year or so. All help appreciated.

I used to mount
mine on a specially designed outboard motor trolley which I could lift into the back of my land cruiser quite easily , laying down ofcourse . Mind you it was a smaller motor.
With trolleys so cheap now you would only need to mount a wooden cross bar on the trolley and put the motor on it like a transom.
two people, lift each side -easy as.

Charlie,
Have a look around for an Opposite Lock brochure, pretty sure I saw one of their rear wheel carriers with a spare wheel and one side and an outboard on the other, it was on a 'Cruiser though, they may float better :)
