I had the windscreen recently replaced on my new prado & the windscreen that replaced the genuine Toyota one was supplied by windscreens Obrian & they used a non genuine one & took the centre mounting plate that holds the centre mirror of original windscreen & the glues they used keep unsealing & not setting once in heat outside on a hot day & falling of the windscreen.I had a centre mirror with a reversing camera mounted onto the original Toyota windscreen & had no problems with it holding the weight of the 2 normal toyota mirror & reversing mirror mounted onto the top of toyota mirror.
Do you know of this problem before & can you recommend either a double sided heavy duty tape that will do the job or a glue that is used for this type of winsdcreen bracket mounting. They say it might be because the older 4WD,S had steel mounting brackets & they are now aluminium ones instead.

From what I was told a few years age there is special glue to hold mirrors to the windscreen. It is stronger than regular super glue.

the best glue for the task is a ultra violet glue, made by loctite or another quality maker. This is what OBRIEN's should be using [they should know by now] and it takes a uv light to set the glue off. It makes no diff if it is steel, ali ,brass, glass, copper, wood, with the exception of some plastics. I use this glue often and it can't be seperated once set
