Can some one explain what the difference is between (High) & (High Low) on my 2000 prado?

And when I am in (Low Low), is the limited slip still active?

G'day Megajones.

Your transfer lever has H, HL, N & LL on it.
H is high range.
HL is for high range with the centre diff locked.
N ie for neutral.
LL is low range with centre diff locked.

Your limited slip diff should be working at all times.
Hope this helps.

Safe travels

Jim-Bob.

G'day Howard.

The Prado only has a slippery diff in the rear.

Safe travels.

The current series 2 on some GX and most GXL that are fitted with traction control have LSD in both ends.

well, sort of, they use brake pressure to make the wheel with least traction think it has traction, transferring drive across the axle,a cting like a lsd, only better.

Generally thats how they work but my mate has a GX with traction control and the diffs have LSD stickers on them and the axle codes on the ID tag are that of LSD.

2003 model series 2. the series 1 and 2 look the same with the exeption of the engine size sticker on the side of the rear turret eg 4000 or 3000 being 4l V6 or 3lTD
