I am looking at buying a Landcruser PC 75 with a 350 Chev in it. I am interested to know what milage to expect. It runs the original Toyota 5-speed gear box and has dual fuel. My wife and I are looking at a three month trip over east from late November to Febuary via the great Central Road. Thanks

Hi Liam, this will not answer your question, but firstly check to see if anybody will ensure it. I had heard TCIS will no longer insure Chev conversions, and of all insurance companies they are the most likely to insure it. Regards Slunnie

You are joking of course !! This is something that you run between petrol stations in the city, and at best a couple of hundred kays outside .... you won't even reach the outback in this one !! How about 8 mpg at best in tough going !

Hi Liam, Forget the 350 Chev conversion the motor is an antiquated dinosaur, even on gas, Look for a Troopy with 2H or 1HZ Diesel you will get 22 to 25 mpg with adequate power , then you can really afford to go touring ! Regards Ken.

Thanks for the advise, I have checkedd and I can insure it. I have also looked a a few hilux's. we found one that is at a good price and in good nic (thats not easy with a 10K budget). Funniest thing the after going all over the perth metro area, the best so far has been two minute away.
