G'day all, thanks for the info on road conditions for the Glow worn tunnel. It is just as rough as when I was last there in 1998!! Good old national sparks and wildfires diverting funds to crap money wasting programs instead of maintenance.
But hey if we complain, they will just lock access as usual.
When I first went out there about 25yrs ago you didn't even need a torch as there were so many glow worms that once your eyes adjusted you could see where you were walking. Now there was probably only a few hundred left.
They will probably use that as an excuse to lock us out as
well.

Hi Voxon, the
glow worm tunnel is located in the Wollemi N.P. between
Lithgow and the old Shale mining town of Newnes in NSW. The tunnel is only 1 of the tunnels bulit in the area as this was the train route to Newnes. In post 16523 Baz set up a link for pics. As you can see you actually drive through 1 other tunnel before the car
park at the start of the walking track. The track is about 1km each way and is an easy walk with about 30 steps over a
creek and foot bridge.
