Any members with TJM canopys out there?? If so, do you have problems with the (single central) closing mechanism self undoing on rough roads. I find I close it firmly, but after about 30 mins of corrugated roads the thing has undone. The only cure I find is to lock the thing, but this can be a bit of a hassle sometimes.
Anyone got a fix for it??

We HAD a TJM canopy on our F250. I know your problem. However after having our canopy for a couple of months we had the side windows and front wall bit resealed, the back door replaced 3 times as you could open the tailgate even with the back window closed and locked. Even after the 3rd replacement door you could still open it. If you pulled hard enough on the centre window handle on the back you could flex the door so much it looked like you would either pop the door open or at least break the plastic rod retainers or rivets.
We have fixed the problem now though. We gave the canopy back as we never paid for it as we said we would pay when we were happy with it.
We have a Raider Vagabond canopy from Canada now and couldn't be happier.
Good luck!

All of our company Hiluxes have the TJM canopies fitted (about 10) and all of them come undone even on the bitumin. All except for 1 stay closed when locked. So get used to it.

yep...its happened to me and i got a pair of spots out them for the damage it caused to a gun case (gun was ok). Thank god we were able to back track and was able to find the gear before anyone else did...other gear also came out but that was soft stuff like sleeping bags etc etc.
The problem is caused by the canopy flexing.
The slide (for the catch) at each side of the canopy are not long enough to keep the the top access closed when the canopy does flex....fix ? if new go back to TJM
if not then try making the slide catch longer.
As
mine was under warranty I made them increase the length and it never happened again.
