Baz,
just fitted a kitchen to mine. I fixed a piece of 50 X 50 angle, the lenght of the kitchen, to the tailgate and then cut a slot in the back of the kitchen so it slips over it. The bench top of the kitchen sits on this angle and is screwed to it. I then put some small tabs at the bottom to keep it in place. The kitchen I have made is fairly "robust" but not that heavy, actually lighter than the slide out one I had and holds all i want. I'll try to email you a drawing of what i did.

That would great photos would help, i was going to bolt 3 L shaped brackets to the tailgate and attach it that way but i'm not so sure that would be the way too go.

No I didn't.

I use 1/2 inch cup head bolts , with big washers on them. The Kitchen is made out of 12mm Ply. For me , I cant see how a bracket would make any difference , because its the construction of the kitchen that is the issue.

If its going to break away , its because the back of the kitchen unit , isn't attached to the rest of the kitchen properly. In which case , a bracket wont help.

Bearing in mind a couple of things though.

I have an extendable leg , for support when the Kitchen is open.

I haven't yet , but , I going to put a rail along the bottom , to support the kitchen , on the floor of the trailer , when its closed. So it isn't completeted supported by the Tailgate.

(PS, I cant leave messages on the CT Forum at present , hotmail box is full , but there is piccies of my Kitchen in the Kitchen Piccies folder. I don't think there is any of it mounted though. If you want to chat about it , or want some more piccies . . . let me know.)

Hey Mick, if ya get time, I'd be interested in seeing them too if thats ok !
Got the LPG bottle brackets all done and look great. Been years since i used a welder but after a couple of zaps on some scrap metal it all cam back to me. So now I'm in the mood for modifications again. and a sink is a must !

Hey Truckster, working between Mulgrave office and Knoxfield warehouse. Not in the Habit of meeting strange men for a coffee, but would make an exception for a legend such as yourself...........
