Phil
I am planning to travel the High Country in January in my 2.8TD Patrol towing a TrakShak camper trailer. I am interested to hear from anyone who has done similar bearing in mind the lack of power from the little diesel.

Hi Phil
We have several members in our 4WD club with the 2.8TD Patrols and they have no problems towing camper trailers. Sometimes they need a low gear than the 4.2TD's and higher revs, but they manage to go every were the larger diesels go.
Were in the high country do you intend to go in January

Thanks for responding Ray,
We intend coming in from
Mansfield and going from there. Havent planned the route exactly yet. Intend to visit Craig's Hut etc. Whats been your experience with rain down there, does it make it inaccessible in some
places with a camper? Also not having driven a 3.0TD GU I was wondering how they perform in the lower rev range? regards, Phil

Been there / Done that - half your luck phil - no probs wagonwise - should not experience any water probs unless extremely bad downpours.
happy 2/3 weeks 4wheeling - see you when you exit Mt Selwyn.
it will be nice to hit the bitumen bottom buckland valley but by the time you reach
home you'll be wishing for the Tracks again ... Bazza
