loose plug

Hi,
does anyone the purpose for a loose (unconnected) electrical plug with wires attached hanging dowwn near the rear wheel (sill panel...i think) of an 80 series.

Is it a factory gray tojo plug? ie standard with the car.
My car has a few through it for the up market types like full autos, xtra stuff and the like.

As Chris said it is for an upmarket version. Even the base models have sahara wiring tucked in there somewhere. It would be cheaper to mass produce 1 harness than 1 different 1 for every model. Check out car yards and up spec models to see what it is.

There could be 2 plugs, one for electronic shocks and the other for factory diff locks, the same plugs may be found under the bonnet

I know the 100 series standard has a factory plug there to plug in the wiring for the genuine tow bar.Dont know about the 80 though.
