Hello There, Just a quick question to know if anybody has a good way of protecting the caravan when we are not using it. Is there a good caravan cover that anyone is using? Or something along those lines.....Thank You.

Hi JMR. I used to use a so called "tarp" bought from Bunnings or somewhere but that tore itself to bits in the wind after about 3 months.
I got a quote from a canvas goods maker of $800 for a fully fitted cover with big zips but at that price it can stay in the weather for a while longer!
Giving it a good polish once or twice a year should help keep it good.
Alan.

Some of my mates can squeeze theirs in sheds or under carports. Just depends how big it is I suppose.

JMR,
I bought a good quality tarp from a
camping store for about $150 and used it to cover my boat. I expected it to last about 12mths in the QLD sun but it lasted over 4 years and I only got rid of it because I put my boat in a nice shiny big shed that cost a packet (certainly more than the $150 tarp!).
The trick is to find a good quality tarp. (or spend a packet on a shed) Good
camping stores know the difference.
Andrew

Give some thought to a shade cloth cover. 90% shade, bound around the perimeter
and with an eyelet every couple of metres. I have one each for the boat and the caravan, they're light to take off and on and seem to last forever

Buy a copy of Caravan World magazine - there are a couple of mobs selling 'van covers in the latest edition, from memory.
