My husband and I are looking to buy a new soft top
camping trailer to travel to
Cape York next May. We have looked at several CT's. The one we particularly like is a Three Dog camper, however the canvas weight is 11oz on walls and roof whereas most other campers have 13 oz canvas. We are wondering how the 11oz cavas stands up. Would appreciate any comments as we are new at this.
Thanks Nellie and Dave

11oz is not to bad some are only 8oz walls and 10oz roof, 10oz to 13oz is good enough, ours is a bit of overkill 14oz walls and 16oz roof, has it's disadvantages, is a bit harder to set up and weighs alot more, 3dog have a good rep so i wouldn't to worried about them.

Dear Ms Nellie.
The term 'stands up' is the last thing that should be on your mind re canvas.
Its the 'Silhouette factor' that should be firmly in your mind as a number one priority.
If you don't have the correct weight canvas, then at night with a light on, the only travelling road show is going to be
'nellie, nellie with a rope around her belly'
We have a Troopy pop top that apparently gave educational shows at night until I/we woke up to it and had the canvas replaced for a heavier weight. (our bed is in the the pop top )
So my very humble advice to you is - test this 'favourite' of yours in the dark with a light inside and someone moving around in same.
If you can see anything then the weight is not heavy enough. Colour of canvas can have an affect/help/asist as
well.
I have no doubt that once you get past this 'priority', the canvas that suits same will be heavy enough to 'stand up' to whatever treatment you and yours can dish out out to it.

Cokie
Oops too many chardy's
Cont. (what was worse)
'educational movies' or ' St Vitas Dancing clothesline'
Just one of those things sent to 'tes you during the journey of life.
Still ROFLMAO thinking about it. However the çommissioner for war' had a red face for ages afterwards and still goes a tinge of pink when its mentioned.

Gee Ken, you may have saved our "honeymoon" away from the kids from being an
entertainment for all. Thanks for the good advice. I wonder how many guys will be out ther tonight with a light on checking out their cavas.
Cheers Nellie
