Gday again all,
Found a second hand aussie swag offroad camper for sale, and am going to have a look at it this afternoon.
From your own experience, if an offroad camper has been on several trips, apart from having the canvas in really good nick as it's very expensive to replace, is there anything else I should be looking for?
Did aussie swag do an offroad jobby in the mid 90's? It comes with the queen size bed, hard floor, 12v power/lights, new 3 way fridge/freezer,
water tank, gas stove, annexe,
toilet, shower cubicle (not one made of besser blocks), 2 gas bottles, 2 spare wheels. I called and it has new tyres, alloy rims, deep cycle battery that charges off mains whilst driving, and the canvas was replaced 12 months ago so apparently in near new condition.
Any hot tips? Thanks again!
Cheers
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Had my Aussie Swag for a couple of years now without problems. The bed is better than
my home ensemble.
You will require a Gas certificate.
Have the wheel bearings checked.
How did you get a 3 way fridge/freezer ? Or is it a 3 way fridge. (being pedantic)
Sounds good to me. What model is it.
Have fun with it.

Gday Redeye,
Don't know yet, but am checking it out this afternoon. A gas certificate from the owner I'm assuming?
The 3 way fridge/freezer apparently. But I will post further on Monday.
Thanks for your help thus far!
cheers
Chris.

Gday Redeye,
Well, I ended up buying the camper, much to the missus delight.
Wheel bearings are fine, it's a brand spankin' new Chescold 50L Fridge Freezer.
From Trucksters post, I can see that it's the Offroad Mark II 1989 model with the second door and the window above the bed.
Needs a paint, a few trims replaced, but the canvas is as new, the flyscreens all new. Will most likely put a new piece of marine ply in the floor, and put a new mattress on it, but apart from that it's all good. Has a deep cycle battery, new gas bottles, and 62 litre
water tank. Also has the double storage tubs.
I have a mate who will put in an extended drawbar, suzi leaf springs and some shocks and I'll run a set of 14 x 6 allterrain bfg's on it. I'll paint it the same color as the truck and for around 2 grand, it'll come up a treat, in the end it will cost me around 8 grand in total, and AAMI will cover it for 14k once all done. So for that, I'm happy!

Chris,
Sounds great. I can only hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I have with
mine.
Did not have to paint my trailer as both the GU and camper are white.
You will require a break controller as the camper has electric breaks.
Good
