Just fitted a poly slim line tank to a GU cab chassis. It fits above the main fuel tank with only about 5mm clearance to the suction lines and vent lines on top of the tank, what do you think any chance of it hitting while off road and chassis flexing????

They are a good product, rectangular and thin so it can fit in between tray rails. Comes with all the fittings but the hose needs to be changed to better stuff, 80 litres so a good volume. The previous car has stainless but I know someone who got it for me at cost so couldn't beat the price. If your interested in how it fits in let me know.

Hope you're not sitting it on the fuel tank-stress on brackets will probably fracture whole lot in time. Also flex of chassis, water tank (with 80 kg behind it) and only 5mm will definetately fracture fittings. What about some different right angle fittings or drilling holes in whatever they are going to hit? Also what about fittings for fuel tank, how do they sit under water tank?

No there is a space between the bottom of the water tank and the top of the tank but only about 5mm. This clearance is to the top of the fuel lines running into the top of the tank. I'll probably make up some tray spacers and lift it 20mm. I didn't want to but when everything flexes on rough roads it might touch. All the weight is taken by the tray cross members.

Hi,

Not sure what the retail price is but I got it at cost for $340 this might help when you start pricing around. I thought of using stainless as that's what I had on the GQ. Nothing is better than stainless for taste, life and maintance etc, however I also was told 800 to 1000. The slime line fits above the fuel tank but the stainless can be made to fit beside the aux tank. Everything fitted easily but I've made a few extra supporting brackets as they only have a couple of bits of light angle and suggest you tec screw it to the cross rails. If you do this you can only get 6 screws in it and I doubt it would handle vibrations to well.

It is for water and comes with all the fittings, hoses, filler, tap etc. The only thing you need are screws or bolts to attach it to the tray. The supplied hose is the only thing that lets it down, it's clear nylon so needs to be changed to food grade hose. I take it your car is a wagon, so yours would be a different set up. I think the GU is similar underneath to the GQ and the aux tank fits in under the passenger side rear floor. This is were the water tank fits in GQ's, not sure were you can fit one in a GU.
