Morning all,
Hope you had a fun and safe weekend!
Had my Dept. of Interior storage drawers delivered to me yesterday by my 'cheap accessory mate' and installed them last night. It took 2 guys around 2 hours of install time, 10,12,14,16 and 17mm sockets, stumpy philips head screwdriver and battery drill...oh yeah and about 6 rums. The beauty of the Dept. of Interior Drawers is that they come pretty much fully assembled, I got the two drawer with fridge slide. It comes in two sections, with the little storage bits inside.
If you have have a Nissan/Milford full cargo barrier in a GU Patrol, the fixing arms that come off the bottom of the barrier to the floor of the car hold up the drawers. I was provided with different bolts, but the other bolts weren't long enough to reach the original holes. I've given the dude a call to contact Dept. of Interior to try and source a fix for that.
However, the drawers are
well constructed, very light in weight, fully carpeted with all the bits and bobs, comes with eye bolts and fridge tie downs. The model with fridge slide also comes with a a big bread board that sits over the hole the presents itself when you utilise the fridge slide, stopping stuff from falling into the drawers! For some $600.00 cheaper than a competitor, it seems to be the way to go.
On a side point, I picked up a second hand 1989 Aussie Swag Camper Mark II Offroad camper on Friday night. Came with 62 L
water tank, alloy rims and new tyres, as new canvas, zip on bathroom/
toilet, annex, deep cycle battery, 50L 3 Way Chescold Fridge/Freezer and other bits and pieces. For $5,500, I'm pretty stoked, don't need the fridge so I can flog that off which should pay for replacing the trims, upgraded extended drawbar and
suspension and paint job.
Ahhh, hobbies, don't ya love em'!
Cheers,
Chris.
