urethane bushes

I am going to put urethane bushes on my shockers good idea or should I keep the rubber ones.

They wear out faster than rubber..
...but depends on what sort of 4wding you do...

squeek...squeek .....urethane....squeek great......squeek ....squeek .....bugger putting the rubber inserts back in. For some reason certian brands squeek like buggery....
shadow...no more squeeks...now for the rattles.

the only reason I was thinking of urethane is because of the rubber ones on the peddars has dislodged a bit and I thought the urethane would sit better on the stud

Hi Markline,
Pedders and rubber bushes....BAD. I have replaced three rubber bushes so far, and need to replace another. Thankfully I only have pedders on the front end, and they will soon be replaced after only 18 months - why? Because I am sick of being in the outback, and having to take it easy and miss some out of the way
places because the shockers have failed me again.
I don't recommend Pedders Shockers, only because of the rubber they use.

Can't recall where ... but remember receiving advice that they're not such a great idea. Apparently the rubber adds to the cushioning effect, if I remember correctly.
If they're so grouse, how come they're not used as OME .... and readers .. spare me the same old penny pinching line please.

konis are good but over priced same with ohins ond white power.Progressive
suspension was a great brand and about a third the price of koni's.Try to see if proven products still distribute them ?
Proven products off the top of my head where in Mc creadie rd

Stick with the factory rubber ones.
The weak point on the front Prado shocks is the lower bush. The factory bushes and shocks are fine but some of the aftermarket bushes fail. Its pressed in, so can't be easily replaced. The Prado rear end is the same as any other live axle.
When you ask about shocks, you'll get a 100 different answers and most of them will be unrelated to the peculiarities of your vehicle, and how you use it. Just keep your Pedders on, and use your vehicle for what it was made for.
