To those that mat be interested, i just learn't one of those lessons today that some may say is pretty naive. Nissan doesn't wanna fix my busted spring tower weld 'cos I got non standard springs. Met one of the rudest suits that wouldn't even look at it until I insisted. Even then i doubt he really looked. Took it to one of the most respected names in 4wd mods for repair and he couldn't believe it. In fact anyone who looks at can see its a dodgy job. Sure I've gone outside the warrantee conditions and modified my car BUT if the job is so bad in the first place what's Nissan gonna do? Play the big guy and tell me no way.
Well people all I can say is if you have a problem, make sure you stick your car back to standard and F*&^% them. But let your conscience govern the legitemicy of your claim!!! Yes I'm angry- don't come near me for three days.

If you venture away from the original design of your vehicle and you have problems then it is on your own head. Stop trying to shift the blame on to others because you want to play outside the rules.

Read it again, i lost this one and I'm only warning others of the consequences of going out side warrantee conditions. Plenty of people put 2inch medium duty springs and Polyairs on and don't have a problem. Unless you're prepared to have a look at the weld then like I said before don't come near me.

Just a thought, I wonder if getting your aftermarket spring fitted by the Nissan dealer as part of a new purchase would address this issue?

Just a thought, but who installed
the springs?
If it was done by a workshop who supplied them, then the product is not fit for the purpose and a claim can be made for consequential damages.
Isn't the patrol spring mount a known problem? If so that makes the installer even more liable.

If I had the same problem I would expect the Nissan dealer to come to the party! I bought all my accessories through the dealer including ARB/OME 2" lift. The dealer principal has their catalog in the top drawer of his desk! It would be the same as any accessory you buy from the dealer when you get a new car; cruise, tinting etc. It will be covered under the new car warranty. So to those who say how dare you play outside the rules etc ????

Well I agree with ya mate.
Its a shame they don't look at the reason why it failed rather than looking for a reason not to fix it!.
I don't know your rig, but as long as the mods aren't rediculous or excessive then I don't see why a 'better' set of coils would cause the damage you have experienced.
Anyway, as you say, a lesson learnt.

Well, there are some supportive, positive people out there.
Thanks people for not putting the boots in, unlike some others!!!!!!!!
BTW the person fixing it, if I may put in a free plug for
Melbourne people, has a nickname that starts with C____Y (quite big in the comp scene) and has a black Mav shorty that recently appeared in 4x4 monthly. Very nice guy and workmanship that speaks for itself.
