For your info.

BF Goodrich has recalled about 500 four-wheel drive tyres in Australia because of potential safety concerns.

The company said the move followed an alert from the United States where its quality monitoring process had picked up a condition with the tyres which could result in steel belt separation.

However, it said no accidents or injuries had been reported in relation to the problem.

"The recall decision was made based upon six tyres being returned prematurely in the US market," said product marketing managing Pierre Azemat.

"US customers had experienced tyre vibration, noise and ride comfort issues.

"BF Goodrich Tires Australia estimates that of the 500 tyres in the Australian market approximately eight per cent of these are possibly affected.

"However, in order to reclaim that small number of tyres, the company is recalling all potentially affected tyres produced during the same period."

The tyres involved were produced between April 11 and 24 this year at the Fort Wayne facility in the US and were sold in Australia from May.

They include three sizes in the company's All-Terrain T/A KO Load Range tyres and carry the Department of Transportation tyre identification numbers on the side wall: DOT BF 1504 or 1604.

BF Goodrich said the recalled tyres would be replaced free of charge
