Anyone had a chance to change their Terracan tyres from standard to another brand. I find the Standard Kumo's useless and I am looking to upgrade them. Anyone got any Ideas

Jason,

I got my Terracan at the start of June and had new tyres fitted to it before it was delivered.

Choices are very limited due to size, and speed and load rating. I ended up with Toyo Open Country (known as "OPATS"), A/T. About $210 each. I have done numerous off road trips with a lot of other people and they seem to perform as well as other A/T's. Nothing special in mud, but no A/T's are. Pretty quiet on road.

Reports are that they wear well.

Cheers,

I have Bridgestone A/T's after blowing out one of those useless Kumo's. Have done 20,000kms on them with no problem. Haven't done a lot off road but are great on the highway and I can certainly recommend them.
By the way how is the Terracan going?
They seem to get a lot of flack but I am yet to find an owner who is not over the moon with theirs.
Great value for the money and I think getting a good name.
Have had mine just on 1 year and except for the tyre change have not had one thing go wrong. Love that 5 year/130,000km warranty and hope to never use it.
Cheers

I was investigating the purchase of a Terracan in July 04. At this stage I am holding off until an update and diesel arrives. I was also put off a little by Terracan Tim's comments about the suspension and I was put off a bit about the mere 189mm ground clearance listed on the brochure. I enquired about non standard tyres fitted from new. The dealer ordered some Geolander AT+IIs for another customer from Tyrepower in Berwick (Melbourne). You may want to have a look at these ones
