... I'm gonna get caned for this..... BIG TIME!!!

1) Take spouses 4 x 4 on Sky Trek.
2) Have spouse WITH YOU while actually doing Sky Trek in her 4 x 4
3) Going on a day that has threatening thunderstormss, being shown the escape routes, passing the point of no return, and being told to hurry along
4) Taking notice about hurrying, and then when you hit rocks, she yells at you
5) Having 42 psi in tyres, and slipping DOWN a ridgetop instead of going UP! Don't ask..... Wanker will cover it!!!
6) Taking eyes off track to look at scenery, only to look 981 metres DOWN, and be totally shlt scared.

Anyway, had a ball up in the Flinders.

Met Big Kidz & Rod & Wife, and met Willie's Judith. Had good weather, good food, good wine, good company..... everything was good.

Definately going to try for a lift on the Delica.

Cheers

Sounds like a fun day mate. I had the 7 year old boy in tears before we did sky trek last week. "I hate 4WDriving dad!" Anyway he loved it more than the other kids in the end.The new lift in the GQ worked a treat as there were no thuds on the floor. We didn't have a hurry along tho.....did it in 7 hours......but yes they should tell u to not look down lol

Wolfy,
Sky Trek is a great drive, we have done it 2x. If you want an adrenalin rush, consider Bendlby Ranges, they do have a web site not sure what it is, but do a search and u will find it.

Is north of Orroroo and the people who run it are well organised, concerned about you and it is fantastic.

Great drives and camping spots. Allow about 4 days.

Lone Wolf,

Were you on Skytrek on the Sunday of the long weekend? We did it then and the same, saw thunderstorms on the way but they seemed to divert at the last minute. We stayed at Willow Springs Station (camping). The owners said it was forecast to have thunderstorms on the Sat, Sund and Monday but we only got a few drops on the Monday as we were leaving. Didn't really see anywhere where our vehicle might slip backward had 40 in the tyres (AT/s), (unfortunately) because we were all a little disappointed at the lack of challenge, but the views were worth it.

D-Jack

Monday was our day.

I am relatively new at the 4 x 4 scene, and I was scared of some of the rises. I don't handle heights very well at all.

What seemed to make it more difficult for us was the lack of ground clearance on some of the ascents, and my inexperience.

To me it was a challenge, and looking back, I now realise that I did enjoy it.

We had a ball, sorry I missed you.

Cheers

Wolfie
