Hi All,
Just a stupid question about spark plug.
The spark plugs ( Platinum) on my imported Toyota Hiace have worn out and I want to replace them. The guy at Repco told me that I'd better replace with same platinum ones ( A$28 each) and the non- Platinum ones ( A$3 each) will not work properly even the specification of these two are similar. The other vendor even said Toyota has their own spark plug specification and 3rd party spark plugs will casue rattle even start-up problem. Does anyone has experience in this area? Do I really need Platinum Spark Plug ?
Thans in advance.

So long as the heat range and the physical specs are the same should be alright, but you will only get 10k out of them instead of 80 to 100k.

... so $28.00 as compared to $30.00 .... ( maybe ). Less 8 - 10 times labour costs.
I have been watching this thread closely, because I am thinking that I may put some in the Honda.
Cheers

fors...keep your toyota all toyota, one set of plugs instead of 10 sets (landfill) againsts....money could be in an interest bearing acc,in which case u will owe tax, a set of leads because you accidently pull one appart, plus 10 times working on car instead of driving, 10 trips to the store and back, etc, etc.
Dont risk it,use whats designed to go in there.
