I already have a 2" suspension lift on my 95 rx wagon, and would like to lift the body to go to a taller tyre.........31" up to 35' to reduce the overall revs, on a 6.5 Chevy diesel, the diffs have already been changed to 3.5.
Can anyone advise me where to get this done in perth, and maybe how much, and are there any problems with it, or where can i see a vehicle already lifted ???
regards JJ

Robson Bros will do it for you. Quote for my 80 Series was over $800.
After having done it myself I can see why.
I have all the info you should need to do it yourself if you would like it sent.
Mine cost me a little over $100 but took 2 complete days due to radiator etc having to come out. GQ I think will be easier.
Truckster will eb able to help and he will be around this forum sometime soon

You may want to check the legalities of 35s in WA on a GQ. There was chat on Outerlimits that getting the brake, swerve, and other tests is now they are VERY tight on their limits of what they allow.

Also insurance for modded 4bs like that is very high as you would know with the Chev - it gets worse with suspension and tires.. :(

You could fit 35's which will require an Engineers certificate (your only allowed 15mm over std), which involves the Brake and swerve test to be legal with either :

a 3inch lift, body lift and trim the innner lips off the guards, and a 12mm spacer on the front control arms, Mates dad has 36x11.5 swampers on his with 3inch and cut guards.
or
a 4inch lift, which also requires engineering (more $), depending on which 35 you go to, you may still need to trim the guards, and body lift.. This could set you back anything around $2000-2500 for a proper job..

Have a look at http://www.bigballsoffroad.com/ and check Liams kits out. Thats the one I had in my GQ until recently. The ranchos are crap, go with OME or Konis.. The kits are COMPLETE and not cheap, but are top notch, and easy to fit yourself.

You could also go a body lift to allow clearance on the guards have a look at my page with pics of the 6inch kit on my GQ, also there is a www.gqpatrol.com "HOW TO" do a body lift, which ALSO "MAY" require engineering depending on height. a 50mm body lift is a good size.

The diffs you have now would be 3.9's. (Nissans have 3.9, 4.1, 4,3 and 4.6 as genuine - 4.8, 5.12 and 5.23 are also available)

Good luck.

I have the same patrol with a 2" lift. I just put 33x12.5x15 tyres. They just scrub at full lock. Tomorrow booked it in for some 30mm packers ontop of the springs. About $30 a spacer. This wont be enough for 35" but a cheaper option than a body lift.

A body lift would cost you about $100-150.00
