I have seen/read/heard about camper trailers that are very similar to the
Kimberley Kampers. I know one is the campomatic but cant seem to find the others. I really like the
Kimberley but at$$$$$$$ i am not that able to get one!
Can anyone shed light on the "copies" that are around.
Thanks, Rob

Ay Rob,
Saw one in a mag , looks very similar, called a Murphy or Furphy. I think it comes from Vic.

Pioneer, Cub are 2 more, IMHO if you are going to buy one of these type of campers then i would go for the Trak Shak around the same price and IMO far more superior in design and space, they have 2, count them 2 queen size beds as standard and when you fold them up they are as small if not smaller than the others.
Try this link,a href="
http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=camper+trailers&btnG=Google+Search&meta=cr%3DcountryAU">camper trailers there all in google.

a track
shack &
kimberley cant be compared .from turning off your car to kitchen open & bed made in under 2 minutes by 1 person you could never do that in a
shack the KK is that price for a reason you get what you pay for

Sorry if i offended you but was not comparing the KK only, but to all of this type of camper and when i say this type i mean rearward opening camper, even though the T/S opens to the side first and as i said just my opinion, my cryteria is space and apart from our camper, the trak shak is the only one with as much space that we found when looking for a camper but folds up so small, bit out of our price range at the time. IMHO.
Baz.
It's a personal choice in the end.

Rob,
We didn't think the current price for the KK was value for money.
This was. AORC
We looked a dozen or so but kept coming back to it.
KK's seem to be popular.... their monthly advertising bill would prob pay a house off in 6 months.

Rob,
Go to the Yahoo Campertrailers group
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/campertrailers/
where you will find in the links section, a file that has the web addresses of over 50 camper trailer manufacturers. There are many, many campers that are similar to the KK.
We have just bought a Trak Shak and couldn't be happier with this as it suits us perfectly - it may of course not suit you, but it's certainly one to check out.
Cheers

Hi Rob,
Probably the most similiar to the KK is the Aussie Swag Camper. We nearly bought one back in 2002 but decided we could do better for a growing family. Back then they were around $10K cheaper than a KK but like a lot of popular campertrailers, they gone up in price quite a bit so I'm not sure how they'd compare now.
FWIW, we ended up going for a Camprite TL8 which we are very happy with.

G'day Robsoff,
You may wish to check out *Australian RV Trailers* at Caboolture (Q'ld)..
website ... www.austrvtrailers.com ... There is a link to their homepage in the business search section of this (exploroz) site... If you talk to them, I'm sure that David would appreciate you mentioning that you found 'em here!!
They will custom-make to your requirements (made my tandem hard-floor about a year ago for less $$$'s than the KK's)...
As they are sponsors of this site, if you purchased from them (or any other site sponsor), you would, in effect, also be supporting exploroz.. a good thing, IMO...
Happy hunting!!

Rob
try Furphy Campers. They are fairly new to the market, so cannot tell you price or quality.
