Has any body fitted 285/75/17 on a new prado, and, if yes type, cost and how are they handling? My Prado is lifted the maximum amount (50 mm) and i was told that i can now fit this size, i need to know if they rub on anywhere during wheel travel.
Cheers,
MJS

MJS, I haven't heard of this size for the 120series Prado. Who makes a tyre in this size?
I've heard of 285/75R16 going on lifted Prados with a little rubbing, and they are +60mm diameter.
I'd guess that you'd expect more rubbing with 285/75R17 as they would be about +85mm diameter.
Many owners fit the 265/70R16 upsize (+30mm) without bother.

Phil G,
Your right, the size is 285/70/17. To fit 16" rims on the 120 i must grind some of the brake caliper away!! BFG, Cooper and some others make this size, Bob Jane T Marts and ARB sell them of the shelf (BFG & Coopers).
Surely someone has done this before?
Cheers,
MJS.

MJS.
I have CooperSTT fitted to 16" steel rims on my 120. Tyre is 265/75R16. It can rubb at times turning right into a driveway crossover, but so slightly as not to be a concern. I have an OME lift.
Regards
Joe
