Hi,
I have an Isuzu Mu, I love it and it goes SO
well off road.
We have one SMALL problem - the gearbox, it grinds and carry's on, it isn't gone (at the moment) but eventually it will but I was just wondering if anyone would have some info (or where to get some) on the spec's.??
We do know that you can get parts from a Rodeo, can't recall the year though.
Anything would be appreciated, also if you want to just have a chat about the MU i wouldn't mind.! Thanks

Try Outerlimits
Forum they have an Isuzu section and some very good tech info.
I have a 97 Rodeo and Isuzus have plenty of interchangable parts.

Being a MU owner for the last 6 years, I have found that between a 93 TF Rodeo (for the interior) and a 93 SWB Jackaroo (driveline) all parts are available in Aust.
The gearbox is identical to even a current Jackaroo, the only thing they did when they went to the shift on the fly is add an external air actuated 4WD shifter.
you might want to jump n the www.clubisuzu.com website for more info and a great group of guys/gals with tonnes of info available!!
Another great guy is Rob at www.Jackarooworld.com He can source nearly anything Isuzu for you
well below what you could find yourself.
Goodluck!

I did grap a limo diff from a MU that was wreaked out the back of
welshpool somewhere, so they have dismantled a few in WA.
One thing to remember if you do end up sourcing a second hand one from a wreaker is that there are two types. Basically Early and Late model.
If you look at your rear output, the early ones have a slip joint fitting and the late ones have the slip joint in the propshaft and the gbox has a flange. You can swap your gear over, even if you get the newer model box (Im guessing yours is old like
mine??) but it works vice versa....or get the propshaft if you want the better flanged model!!
