Dobinsons shockies are one of the best around. I've been testing them for a number of years in some pretty harsh areas. Each set I've tested have been returned in great condition and the one's I have on now are better. I don't work for them, I've been looked after when getting springs etc to simply test them and give him feedback. If they were sh#t I'd tell him and wouldn't respond here. I've had them up the gulf, cape,
simpson desert, countless trips up
the beach etc and I'd say you won't get much better for the price. Much cheaper than the name brands and I'd say better. As soon as my camper for the ute is finished I'll be taking the vehicle in for new springs and shocks and it'll be Dobinson's.

chris
have king springs and koni shocks and h/d t/b from op lock and more than happy with them.
had king /koni in 80 series and more than happy with them.
had pedders in 80 and initially good ride etc but sagged within 12 mths.
personal choice-there a lot to choose from
also depends on what you want out of them

Everyone will have their own opions on this (like tyres). I have TJM XGS shocks and springs and very pleased with these also. I guess it comes down to a price factor for each person. OME are good (but expensive). If a person is rich and willing to smash their shockers with rocks after spending lots of money, then thats fine. If not, then a happy medium shocker will do fine. It really comes down to personal choice on how you are willing to spend.
Good luck with the decision.

We went throughtg the same process ourselves a couple of months ago - acting on experienced advice we put on Lovell springs, Bilstein shocks and replaced the front torsion bar. Have since done the Simpson, been to
Innamincka twice, up the old Ghan over some pretty bad corrugations etc - we have no complaints at all. Good luck

I fitted new adjustable TJM Cell X9 shocks all round, re set the standard tortion bars and fitted extra heavy duty rear coils (King springs). After about 20k seem to be all ok, but with the ifs 100 series the small front shocks will get a real workout on rough roads/tracks, so if you are going to work it hard I believe the recommended shocks for the front are either Tough Dog or OME LTR's, but may give a harsher ride.
