G'Day all,
Do any of you guys have a workshop manual for the 120? If so, can you tell me where the temp. sensor is located. I think mine has been reading high from day one and I keep forgetting to have them check it when serviced. I'm wondering if it was relocated to a "hot spot" when the bullbar was fitted. Thought I'd have a look.
Regards,
Bazza.

It is on the vertical lock support; ie. the metal panel running from the top tie bar to the lower tie bar underneath the bonnet lock. You can see it as soon as you open the bonnet. It should not have been moved if a bullbar was fitted. Hope this is of some help

G'Day Stevie,
Thanks for the info. It may not be the cause of the problem, but at least I now know where to look.

Bazza.

I never did understand the AMB temp sensor.....thats is why why got climate control.Nissan have the same thing and as it turned out its not wired into the climate control. Its only there as a wank factor. Not to be turned off and a long harness its now located inside under the dash giveing me the interior temp now.As it turns out there is 2 degree difference between the climate control and temp sensor but at least it makes sence to me now.

For what its worth mine is not much good either. Sometimes when starting the car on a hot day it reads 18 degrees and takes along time to come up. Not sure if its related (doubt it) but the climate air on the Prado (Grande) is the worst I have experienced. Sci-Fleet Brisbane assure me it is OK.

I had Nissan Amb temp sensors on a Bluebird 1994 and a Maxima, both were usless as tits on a bull, I ran my own on the surf and put the sensor underneath the snorkel air ram so it's away from the heat of the motor but still in the shade. Why you would put a Amb Temp sensor right next to the radiator is beyond me....
