ExplorOz Team - David
I have been working today on a new members feature. It is not finished yet however I could not help myself and had to tell you about it.
It is called Members Photo Gallery - YES photos in your member profile. The basic
membership level will allow for upto 6 photos to be loaded into you profile. This bit already works, so if you are a member jump into your members
My Home page and scroll down to the bottom - you will see the Photo Gallery section. Note the maximum rendered size will be around 400 pixels and byte size limited to 50Kb (so please resize and compress using jpg before you upload).
Now these are not linked anywhere yet so you can load them but no others will be able to see them just yet. I am working on a
forum mod to allow these to be directly shown in
forum threads also they will be shown on your Rig profile page. There are a few other nice functions that I am working on and thinking about however I just thought I would spill the beans on this new part finished feature.
For those that are not yet members, maybe it is time to join. There are heaps of enhanced site benifits (rig pics, home page, updates since last
logon,
forum auto footer, member messages, member money),
shop discounts, trader discounts, point place credits, advertiser rewards and the list goes on.

Good work David.
However, some of us need help in resizing pictures.
Please, don't say "go to site xyz......"
In other words, can you give detailed instructions here on the
forum for resizing photos to 50 Kb/
Now I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's happy snaps, and vice versa I imagine.
Cheers

At the risk of saying "go to site xyz... ", I really do suggest you go to the Irfanview site! This must be one of the best value bits of software on the 'net, because it'sFreeware- no problems of copyright, piracy, etc.
I've found this to be a very intuitative, easy to use package which allows beginners to achieve very good results with digital images - including resizing.
So, if you follow the link above, choose 'download' and continue through the Tucows download system, you can have this program installed with in 10 minutes.
If you'd like either a) further guidance in downloading and installing Irfanview or b) a brief tutorial in using it to resize images, please contact me atian@thermoguard.com.auand I'll send you some info. (and completely free from Thermoguard propaganda!)

Sorry, that last sentence should have read: "...please contact me at ian@thermoguard.com.au and I'll send you some info."
David: Anymore thoughts on a "preview" function? Also, do you have a guidance page on which html tags do/don't work in
Forum posts? "for 'bold'" does not seem to. Also what is the code for posting an email link, please?

Okay............... I've figured it out.............
It wasn't the fact that sequential images did not want to load at all.
It was because I had placed an ampersand in the description field, which would bugger things up. Removed the ampersands, and all worked
well.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
