Hi I am just about to buy a Gq patrol but have herd that the 4.2lt petrol motor is prone to crack heads when run on gas! Can anyone tell me if this is true?

What is a "gas head", please elaborate. Mine has gone 3 times already and has had new valves, seats etc. If it goes again - so does the whole rig!!

I had a 1990 GQ on gas until this year when i traded it in in a GU.
Did about 300 000 kms in it . Never had a problem with it. Didnt have upper cylinder lube or anything else.
End of the day some do and some dont. Same as those not converted to gas - some cracked and some didnt.
