k then, after nearly 93k, the rear suspension on the patrol is starting to sag a little bit to much when i hook the camper on.
had a chat with ARB here in Perth and they recommend the Polyair.
patrol is a shopping trolley during the week, my toy on the weekend, and get to tow the camper whenever we can get away.
thoughts-opinions-suggestions please.
we cant go for a lift,,,,,the bleedin thing wont fir in the carport if we do.....!

I have exactly the same problem with my prado when I tow my camper. I also cant fit into the garage with a lift but I replace my rear springs with 30 percent stiffer but I feel I still need polyairs.

Rick,

Had a similar situation with my GU - KK on the back, three teenagers and their accompanying gear in the back (when we go away). Most of the time however it is just me on the way to work. I had Polyairs fitted by ORE in Myaree. They were competitively priced and did a great job. (I've seen others fitted elsewhere and I feel that mine are fitted better!) They do a great job For my circumstances.

If you are in a similar situation I would recommend the Polyairs.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Rick,
I have them on my GQ. I am very happy with them mate. Dont go stiffer springs. Biggest advantage i find with them is height adjustment when needed. Also another advantage of having them even when trailer is unattached ...although they are NOT designed for this....... I find times when I am exploring that the bottom scrapes over rocks, A quick inflation gets me over them without that terrible scraping noise. Then back at camp base where I drop them back to where they were.
In my opinion, well worth the money. Excellent product !

Consider the air bags put out in the US by Firestone. Half the price and do the same job. This is the link. I got mine, took about 2 weeks (they were out of stock) and they come with a very good set of installation instructions. I think they came in at around $160 (from memory), and the Aussie dollar is travelling a bit better now.
My car is an 80 Series Landcruiser.

No, you are not missing anything - it all comes flooding back now.

There is also nothing for the 80 Series Toyota on the site, and I remember emailing them to see if they had stock. They came back pretty quickly to me letting me know they could supply them.

I subsequently emailed an order to them and sent them my Mastercard info (in two emails, where I split the numbers and details). That done it took about 2 weeks.

Hi Eric,

Are you using the polyairs on your 60 series ?
I was considering this for mine but was wondering if they are effective on a leaf spring set up ?

I have installed the Poly Air Bags in my GU.

Did 20,000km trip around Oz with 1.5 ton van. Best pre-trip money I spent.

Excellent in keeping the car ride level, completely stopped rear end 'bottom outs'.

A good cheap solution to most towing problems I recon.

cheers

Rick,

I fitted the Coil-Rites purchased from the US, and did the hole package with adjustable in cab gauge etc, it's great. All up half the price you pay here.

Rick,
If you member message "Captain", he has the firestone ones on his series III, would probably have all the price and order info you need, they end up being around $150 landed from the U.S. If you are unsure, for an extra $30 they will even send out a spare bag in case one does break
